A few days after returning to work from Chinese New Year holiday, team members from Chemjoy’s research department and business department came together and attended a workshop meant to raise their level of awareness of basic corporate law. The workshop was conducted by legal experts from Beijing’s Lianggao Law Firm, many of whom have over ten years of experience and have been involved in hundreds of cases.
The program started with a presentation that explained the different types of business contracts and the various characteristics of contract law. Many classic cases were used to illustrate crucial terms and legalese that might cause confusion in situations relevant to the work done by staff members in Chemjoy’s business department.
Next part of the workshop was designated for intellectual property law, more specifically patent law, which proved to be extremely useful for the engineers in Chemjoy’s research department. This segment will certainly help the creative minds of Chemjoy better protect the fruits of their labor as well as the interests of the company.
Throughout the workshop, Chemjoy’s team members were given the opportunity to contribute. Some members asked pertinent questions regarding recent changes in legislation, some were eager to share their experiences with the law and some asked insightful questions which led to discussions and spawned new ideas that turned out to be thought-provoking for everyone present.
Chemjoy’s team members were given the opportunity to seek legal counsel from the experts after the workshop ended. Multiple team members approached the specialists with questions that arose from their interactions with clients, which the specialists each answered with a detailed and helpful explanation.
